My origin story

I'm a Brooklyn gal, former engineer, living in the Pacific Northwest, doing outdoors things.

A few years ago I saw some amazing Milky Way photos and I wondered if I could make something like that. I picked up Mike Shaw's Beginner's Guide to Astrophotography, and that got me going with the basics. Most importantly, it encouraged me to get out there and just. start. taking. pictures.

From there, I got interested in eclipses and auroras. Then I started learning how I could make things pop with post-processing. Next, a smart telescope introduced me to the world of deep space objects. After that came the full-on deep space object learning curve. I'm still on the steep part of that.
