2026 total solar eclipse (8/n)

What an amazing experience that was! Also, we were ridiculously lucky.

I wanted to mention a couple of tools that were helpful to me.

First, Xavier Jubier's eclipse website is a phenomenal resource. It has detailed path maps for solar and lunar eclipses -- this should be stop #1 for people wanting to see an eclipse.

Another great planning tool is PeakFinder, which let me plot out the sun and moon's position relative to local terrain features. I used this to vet some potential viewing sites ahead of time.

Alan Dyer's eclipse photography book exhaustively covers techniques for imaging eclipses, from telephotos to wide angle shots to timelapses.

Gordon Telespun's talking solar eclipse timing app was very helpful for eclipse day observing.
